I saw MICROSCOPICALLY what the keratin treatment did for my hair! Before the keratin treatment, the cuticle on my hair was broken and jagged. All too often stylists get wrapped up in moving people in and out and forget about what we want. "I've been to The Beauty Lounge twice now for myself, and once with my young daughter. The first time I went was because I had purchased their keratin treatment online deal. The keratin treatment that Serena uses is far better than the others I've had in the past. My eyes didn't sting, and the smell was great. After straightening, Serena did aperfect "Vera Wang" cut on me. I do have to say it was the best cut I'd had in years! My hair was extremely long, and sylists in the area had always felt the need to cut layers into it, and do something "creative". It never really worked out, and it made me want to go back to New York just for haircuts! Serena understood and did just what my hair needed, sculpting a perfect line in the back and a precision angle in the front. I recently went back for my second visit and Serena cut 10 inches off for donation to Locks of Love. I hadn't had my hair cut that short in years and was nervous about it, but Serena made it so easy, and the cut, again, was perfection! Serena really takes a lot of time with each client, so if you have to wait a little while to be taken care of, just know that she will spend extra time with you just as she had done for the client before you. The Beauty Lounge is truly a hidden gem!"

"I have horrible wavy, uncontrollable hair - most wavy in the back. It's the worst kind of hair, IMO. Anyways, I saw the Keratin Blow-out on Z-spotDeals for $99 and said hey if this will fix my wavy hair, and save me time, it's worth it! Got there and it felt immediately like a homey salon; one that I definitely am not used to. I hardly ever get anything done to my hair. I've box dyed it at home blonde for 5 years and get a hair cut every 3-4 months. So this was big for me. I'll admit I was nervous. I was skeptical. It's hard to trust a woman I didn't know putting chemicals in my hair. But I did what I had to do, and give this advice: LISTEN TO SERENA. SHE IS THE EXPERT. NOT YOU. Googling Keratin on the internet for an hour does not make you an expert on it. Doing your own research does not put you in the place to TELL HER what kinds of products of hers you need. All you need to do as customers, is go in and tell her what you want. I said I want my hair straight and easier to maintain as straight. To which she replied, then I think we should do the relaxer on you. So she put in the relaxer and let it sit for only a few minutes because my hair is fragile. She was willing to use my voucher for a completely different service because it fit my personal needs. She did my hair thoroughly and told me it was all going to work out. I didn't wash my hair for 3 days after that, and when I did, I started to wonder if this was good for my hair. It felt dry and tangled easily. I let it air dry and it was kind of wavy and honestly I was worried! But after the second washing, and using some of the free sample of conditioner she gave me, my hair is MUCH smoother, straighter and silkier. The relaxer didn't make my hair dry naturally pin straight. But using a hair dryer after my second washing for 5-10 minutes (rather than the typical 20-30 to get it barely straight-ish), it is working out BEAUTIFULLY. It's so EASY to manage now. I hope it stays like this for a long time!!! :) Bottom Line: If you are using Serena and Beauty Lounge for your hair, you need to feel confident in her years of unparalleled experience. You are in good hands. Trust her. She knows everything there is to know about hair. She is passionate about what she does. Tell her what result you are looking for and she will get you there no matter what it's called. I went in for a Keratin treatment and came out with a relaxer treatment, and it's worked out great. I had a wonderful experience. I would definately recommend Beauty Lounge for both new or experienced hair clients. Just don't let your ego get in the way of Serena working her magic on you. ;)

"Unbelievable! Amazing! One of a kind! The most talented Artistic Hair Designer I have ever been fortunate enough to have my hair designed by far! That in its' self is amazing enough for me, but Serena took it another step further. I had been looking for so long to find a Hair Designer that got it...understood...was a true artist when it came to being able to hear what I had to say about the highlights I was describing...Serena did get it. When Serena turned me around in my chair to look in the mirror and I saw the sunkissed natural looking strands of blond throughout, so beautifully blended, I had a smile from here to there but tears of joy as well. I can't begin to tell you how long I had been praying for the right look. Serena knew exactly what to do and wow was she right on.

I usually am in a hurry to fly out of the hair salons of the past. Not this time, even though due to Serena's expertise and consideration, she had my highlights done, my hair styled out and me looking like a million bucks in no time... It was so delightful being in such a zen, relaxing and talk of the town spot in a cozy, uniquely vintage glam lounge... I could have stayed smiling for another hour.
Serena has two highly trained, under her direct supervision, interns to work on Serena's special "Celebrity- feel" clientel that ensures each is taken care of (with her) as quickly as feasible and yet the client experiences what many celebrities experience often... more than one stylist working on their hair, nails and/or makeup at once! Wow.
Twice the styling advantage in half the time! Just like Sandra Bullock in the movie "Miss Congeniality"... What luxury if you ask me!
You simply can not find this level of personal service anywhere in NC.

It is difficult to find a colorist that understands my hair "really" does pull red when I say I want a natural bright beige blondest- NOT strawberry, orange, rust or golden. JUST Pure Blond. Serena not only listened; she did an amazing job! Serena even used a formula to color my hair that was natural without harsh chemicals. What an extra plus to this fantastic service. Ian, an unbelievable talent with placing individual eyelashes and providing one of the most attractive manicures I've ever witnessed, brought me a cup of hot tea during my service. "I just went back for my second keratin treatment with Serena. I just unexpectedly stopped in to say hello and while there I decided to ask if she had time to cut, color and/or do a keratin treatment for me. She was planning on leaving very soon after I got there, BUT without hesitation, Serena said she would do all 3 for me!! Not only have I found a fabulous stylist, I have a great new friend!
I did my microscopic before/after hair observation, for the second time. The before hair had frayed and broken edges all along the length of the hair. After the keratin, the cuticle surface is smooth, with NO fraying. AMAZING. I love the way my hair shines and is not frizzy, with little broken hairs sticking out all over. And Serena uses organic keratin, with NO formaldehyde, which is very important to me.
Serena KNOWS hair design. When she is hi-lighting my hair ,she takes my skin tone into consideration when deciding the exact color of the hilights. When cutting my hair she considers my hair type, curl amount, face shape and features. Then end result always makes me very happy.
